Catalytic Reaction Engineering

A unique way to learn new technology or to refresh your background in catalysis and reaction engineering. This refreshing mountain setting, just outside of Aspen, Colorado provides you with the opportunity to take your loved ones with you, while you learn, so that they can have fun while you are learning valuable job skills.

Course Speakers

John is well known for his expertise in catalyst deactivation. He is a founding member of the Lucretia Borgia Society for Catalyst Deactivation . His recent update to his textbook, "Reaction Kinetics and Reactor Design" is well recognized and serves as a basis for  the course.  He has been involved in previous reaction engineering courses;  this new format was simply too appealing for him to pass up.  He has 168 technical publications, 1 patent, and two textbooks. He is a member of the AIChE, ACS and the Chicago Catalysis Society. He was on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Catalysis.

ACTIVITIES

Planned activities each day will keep you and your family busy and occupied.

  • White water rafting-half day trip down the Colorado river down Class 3 rapids and then a gentle float followed by lunch.
  • Mountain biking-try taking the lift up with your bike and then glide down the mountain, never hitting the pedals.
  • Fly fishing-guides will take you to either the Roaring Fork or Frying Pan for some of the best trout fishing around. (4 hours)
  • Golf-Snowmass/ Aspen Golf Courses have full 18 hole courses
